Confirm the exact machine first
Start with brand, model, manufacturing year, serial information, configuration, working hours, location and source. Condition comments are not useful if they cannot be connected to one identifiable machine.
Use a category-specific inspection scope
The important systems depend on the equipment. A crawler crane requires boom, winch, structure, undercarriage and safety review; an excavator needs close attention to hydraulics and undercarriage; a concrete pump adds pumping and boom-system risks.
Ask for evidence behind the result
Original photos, cold-start video, computer-hours footage, working tests and item-level notes are more useful than a single percentage or broad excellent grade.
Connect condition to real cost and project risk
Compare the machine’s condition, preparation work, transport plan, parts support and expected use at the jobsite. The lowest purchase price is not automatically the lowest operating cost.
